What is NICF Cybersecurity Professional Conversion Programme (PCP)

Professional Conversion Programmes, help jobseekers to re-skill themselves and to obtain the necessary knowledge and competencies to take on new jobs. This enhances the jobseekers' employability as they have the necessary competencies to take on the new jobs

The Cyber Security PCP is a Place & Train programme for new hires that meet the following criteria:

  1. PMEs who are unemployed and looking to enter a Cyber Security job role;
  2. Non-ICT professionals (i.e. career switchers) who want to convert into Cyber Security job roles; or
  3. Existing ICT professionals who want to switch careers into the Cyber Security job role (i.e. different specialization); 

The scheme consists of two components - the mandatory NICF training programme and an on-the-job (OJT) training component.

 

Companies looking to hire into Cyber Security job roles, may apply for their new hires to come under the Cyber Security PCP. New hires should be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents who meet the following apprenticeship criteria:

  1. 1. PMEs who are unemployed;
  2. 2. Non-ICT professionals (i.e. career switchers) who want to convert into Cyber Security jobs; or
  3. 3. Existing ICT professionals who want to switch careers into other ICT subsectors (i.e. different specialisation)
  4. 4. Participating company must be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  5. 5. Structured on-the-job training must be provided by participating companies to the candidate.
  6. 6. Participating companies must engage in work that requires Cyber Security.

This PCP is not open to employees of the Singapore government and related agencies or organisations

Funding Component

Requirement

1.

Course Fee Funding and Absentee Payroll by WDA (for funding details please refer to WDA website at http://www.wda.gov.sg/content/wdawebsite/L102-ForEmployers/L223E-007EmployerBasedFund.html)

New hire must sit and be certified Competent for all course assessments.

Salary Support based on 90% of gross monthly salary (excluding CPF), up to $4,000 per eligible new hire per month, for up to 6 months, where the new hire is a Singaporean PME aged 40 years and above, or Singaporean PME who has been unemployed for more than 6 months;

 

Salary Support based on 70% of gross monthly salary (excluding CPF), up to $2,000 per eligible new hire per month, for up to 6 months, where the new hire (Singaporean or Permanent Resident) does not fall under the criteria stated above.

New hire remains employed at the employing company for a minimum of twice the period that salary support is given.

 

Employers must commit to either salary increment or opportunity for job advancement for the new hires after the PCP and OJT period.
