The Environmental Cleaning WSQ offers clear training pathways for workers to acquire the right skills needed. The framework broadly covers two sub-sectors, namely, Commercial and Private Residential Cleaning and Public Cleaning, and caters to the training of cleaning crews, stewards and supervisors in these subsectors.
It comprises of three levels:
The qualifications are made up of 2 components:
- Core Units
These modules equip workers with essential skills required of workers in order to undertake the primary job functions.
- Elective Units
These modules train workers in vocational skills required of them to be competent in performing certain aspects of the jobs or generic skills that will help them in the course of work.
On successful completion of each WSQ Module
, worker will receive a modular Statement of Attainment (SOA)
. Upon successful completing the required number of modules, the worker will achieve a full WSQ Qualification in Certificate, Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate Level
, signifying their competence attained for careers in cleaning at the operations, higher operations and supervisory levels respectively.
