AWARD OF SKILLS PROGRAMME FOR UPGRADING AND RESILIENCE (SPUR) FUNDING TO ICDL TRAINING MODULES
SPUR is a programme developed by WDA with the ministry of Manpower and its Tripartite Partners, the National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) and the Singapoe National Employers Federation (SNEF). SPUR aims to encourage companies affected by declining business to retain workers by sending them for training. With the enhanced funding support, employers can better manage their excess manpower during the downturn, save on manpower costs and build stronger manpower capabilities for the future.
The period of SPUR funding awarded shall be from 15th July 2009 to 31st March 2011. The following funding will be applicable to the approved ICDL courses and Training Centres:
a) 90% course fee support, capped at $11 per trainee per hour.
b) Enhanced absentee payroll funding at 90% of hourly basic salary capped at $10 per trainee per hour for trainees aged 40 and above with “A” level qualifications and below, and 80% of hourly basic salary capped at $10 per trainee per hour for other trainees
ICDL Singapore and the 4 training centres shall undertake to carry out the following:
a) Adopt a standardized course title, training hours and course fee for each of the 13 ICDL modules
b) Adopt a standardized courseware for the 13 ICDL modules across the 4 Training Centres.
